I have 19 years of teaching experience. Teaching allows me to fulfil what I believe to be a fundamental responsibility: being a good veterinarian and clinician and communicating information to the public so they can make informed decisions regarding zoonotic diseases. At the college, I also believe in the responsibility that students have to understand the relevance of veterinary medicine to public health and the impact of veterinary medicine on their lives. I emphasize the relevance by discussing the current veterinary situation within the community and by asking students to share their knowledge about how to find useful knowledge. Students should know where to find information, how to evaluate that information, and how to make an informed decision based on their understanding of the issues. In addition, students should be allowed to actively engage in the learning process.
My commitment to education is to teach the undergraduate and postgraduate students about immunity and infectious and zoonotic diseases, and to give students the most common infectious and zoonotic diseases within the area.
