Case of a broken horn for a Goat , Treated by Dr. maryam aibrahim yaseen
It seems that Dr. Maryam Ibraheem Yaseen and a group of students provided the appropriate care and followed medical procedures meticulously to treat the case of the goat's broken horn. Managing the bleeding from the root of the broken horn requires special attention to prevent infection and alleviate the animal's pain.
Today’s case involved a goat that had broken its horn from the root, causing bleeding. All necessary medical procedures were taken, including assessment, examination, anesthesia, sterilization, and cleaning. The horn was then separated from the bone using a surgical scalpel, the bleeding was stopped, and the wound was dressed.
The success of the operation depends on the animal owner's commitment to proper post-surgical care, including administering painkillers to relieve pain, antibiotics to prevent infection, and monitoring the wound until it heals.
It is worth noting that a goat’s horn can break for various reasons, including injuries or accidents, weak skeletal structure that might result from a lack of calcium or phosphorus in the diet, leading to brittle horns, genetics, or excessive pressure or friction.
